The Eiffel Tower Vertical, a unique ascent race in Paris on March 16th 2017

--Paris, France (3/16/2017) - The Eiffel Tower Vertical® results are announced!
The Eiffel Tower Vertical® is an ascent race on the 279 meters (915 feet) in height of the most iconic monument of Paris. The 3rd edition of this race, organized by the Eiffel Tower Operating Company (SETE) and the EcoTrail de Paris®, was opening the 10th edition of the event.
From the foot to the top of the Eiffel Tower, 128 athletes took part in this one-of-a-kind race: tower running and trail running specialists chosen by a committee of expert journalists, along with drawn anonymous runners and wildcard runners chosen by the organization.
After climbing 1665 steps in a race that remained undecided until the last runner, it is finally Piotr Lobodzinski (7 minutes and 54 secondes) who won the race for the 3rd consecutive time ahead of Christian Riedl (8 minutes and 04 secondes) and Tomas Celko (8 minutes and 15 secondes), who complete the podium of this 3rd edition.
In the women's race, it is Suzy Walsham (9 minutes and 34 secondes) who claimed the first place and beat its own record, ahead of Dominika Stelmach (10 minutes and 27 secondes) and Zuzana Krchova (11 minutes and 02 secondes) who complete the podium.

About the Eiffel Tower Operating Company (SETE)
On January 1st 2006, the City of Paris assigned the operations and management of the Eiffel Tower to the SETE within the frame of a public service delegation over a period of 10 years. The SETE is a local public company of which 60% of the capital is held by the City of Paris and 40% by the department of Paris. It is chaired by Bernard Gaudillère, Counselor of Paris, and managed by Anne Yannic. The SETE employs more than 300 people. Its turnover for the year 2015 amounts to €81.8 million.
